Training Contracts

Our current first year trainee salary is £38,000 per annum and upon qualification solicitors receive £65,000 per annum.

Career development

As a trainee you will be invited to attend a range of internal and external training sessions to build on your current legal knowledge, client management, skills on drafting, how to present research and organising file management. In addition, you will attend a departmental induction at the beginning of each new seat.

As well as the practical and technical training, you will also be given the foundation skills in business development, building client relationships and financial understanding of how a law firm operates as a business.

Mentoring scheme

As part of our Friendly and Supportive core value, the mentoring scheme offers fee-earners at all stages from Trainees through to Directors the opportunity to talk to a more senior fee-earner or Partner. Topics of discussion can cover anything from day to day work issues to career milestones (seat choices and qualification) where the mentee is looking to seek guidance, support and advice on a confidential basis.

Trainee Retention

We aim to recruit trainees who have the qualities to be successful future solicitors and Partners at the firm. We are proud that we have retained a high percentage of our trainees as they qualify into growing departments. In  2021 we are delighted to have been able to retain 4 out of 5 of our trainees.
