Memery Crystal has advised existing client Leathams on the £15m sale of land on Ilderton Road in South Bermondsey to Barratt London. The site, located off the old Kent Road, has planning consent for a 28-storey residential tower on top of a 30,000 sq. ft. (2,787 sq. m) industrial unit. This is one of the first times a thoroughly considered co-location/beds and sheds consent has been acquired by a national housebuilder.
The former Leathams warehouse facility, will provide 253 new homes (177 private, 18 intermediate and 58 social rent). The site includes the potential for distribution space, which remains highly sought after by industrial and logistics occupiers.
The Memery Crystal team worked alongside Savills in advising Leathams on this transaction. The team was led by our real estate partner Daniel Abrahams and included director Craig Jones.
Commenting on the deal, Daniel Abrahams said: “This scheme brings together two of the UK’s current best performing asset classes and it is very exciting to see the delivery of new homes alongside warehouse space in a South London regeneration hotspot. It was a delight to work closely with Andrew Cox and his team at Savills in advising our client on this landmark deal. Congratulations to both Leathams and Barratt London.”
