Memery Crystal have advised Bowling Green Asset Management (BGAM), one of the UK’s fastest growing owner-operators of branded hotels, on the acquisition of a substantial hotel in Milton Keynes, previously trading as Hilton Milton Keynes.

The purpose-built, 138 bedroom hotel comprises extensive conference and function rooms, with the largest room holding 300 guests, a bar and lounge, a 120 cover restaurant and leisure facilities including a gym.

The hotel is the third to be acquired by BGAM in the last 12 months and now sits alongside four sister properties: Holiday Inn, Kenilworth; Holiday Inn, Stonehenge; Holiday Inn Express, Leigh; and Tankersley Manor, near Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

Our Banking & Finance, Real Estate, Corporate and Employment teams advised BGAM on this acquisition. The team was led by Partner Matthew Lindsay, and included Partner Alex Barnes, Senior Associates Melanie Belford, Helen Abel and Mark Rose, Associate Tom Driscoll and Solicitor Lauren Belmonte.

Jamie Levy, Director at BGAM, commented: “BGAM are delighted to confirm the purchase of our fifth hotel, the MK Hotel, Milton Keynes. We see a lot of growth potential in the hotel and area as a whole and the hotel will benefit immediately from rebranding and major rolling refurbishment programme. The entire Memery Crystal team were commercial, pragmatic and efficient throughout this transaction.”

Matthew Lindsay, Head of Banking and Finance at Memery Crystal, commented: “We are delighted to have advised BGAM on their latest acquisition and look forward to working with them in the future as they continue to expand their portfolio. This deal showcases our growing credentials in the hotels sector and involved our teams working seamlessly to a tight deadline to achieve a successful outcome for our client.”
