What's in it for me?
- Intake of 4 trainees a year. The small intake means you will have real responsibility from the outset working with a range of clients from start-ups to multi-national companies.
- 4 x 6 months seats across our six departments; Corporate (including banking), Dispute Resolution, Real Estate, Real Estate Litigation, Commercial Media &Technology and Employment, working alongside leading experts in their field.
We have a full range of benefits relating to bonuses, well being and career development. A breakdown of these benefits can be found on the Career Overview page.
Our current first year trainee salary is £35,000 per annum and upon qualification solicitors receive £62,000 per annum (as at September 2016).
As a trainee you will be invited to attend a range of internal and external training sessions to build on your current legal knowledge, client management, skills on drafting, how to present research and organising file management. In addition, you will attend a departmental induction at the beginning of each new seat.
As well as the practical and technical training, you will also be given the foundation skills in business development, building client relationships and financial understanding of how a law firm operates as a business.
As part of our Friendly and Supportive core value, the mentoring scheme offers fee-earners at all stages from Trainees through to Directors the opportunity to talk to a more senior fee-earner or Partner. Topics of discussion can cover anything from day to day work issues to career milestones (seat choices and qualification) where the mentee is looking to seek guidance, support and advice on a confidential basis.
We aim to recruit trainees who have the qualities to be successful future solicitors and Partners at the firm. We are proud that we have retained a high percentage of our trainees as they qualify into growing departments.
