Construction
Our construction group acts for employers, investors, contractors and sub-contractors. We also advise consultants, including architects, construction and quantity surveyors and mechanical, electrical and civil engineers.
We are involved throughout the construction process on diverse projects to prevent or minimise disputes. Our areas of advice include collateral warranties, guarantees, bonds and other associated documentation to building contracts; contaminated land issues for developers and investors; development contracts; highway agreements; options relating to land for building purposes; structures of procurement; taxation; and reviewing and drafting standard and non-standard forms of building contracts and appointments, including joint venture agreements and professional team appointments.
We conduct litigation and arbitration involving building, engineering, plant and machinery, mechanical and electrical, fitting out, commissioning and service disputes. Matters handled by our team include certification, defects, delay, prolongation, causation, determination, disruption, extensions of time and liquidated damages, formation of contract, insolvency, insurance and professional negligence.
